For veterans who are homeowners or in the process of homeownership, those who suffer from mental illness and physical injury after returning from their assignments abroad are more likely to have a hard time qualifying for home loans. Even with VA loans, many of them still pay more than they can afford for their housing-related needs. In light of this, the AREAA Education Foundation launched the Welcome Home for Heroes Housing Assistance Program to provide qualified military families with housing financial assistance and professional counsel.

The grants go towards covering repair costs, remodeling, or down payment assistance.

“The grant helped tremendously…Because of the donation, I can focus on my studies without worrying about the renovation expenses or dipping into our savings account.”
